Yesterday Sergio Garcia won the Players Championship at Sawgrass, USA.  It was Garcia’s first PGA Tour title in three years.

Sergio Garcia was played exceptionally well all weekend and beat Paul Goydos at the first play-off hole, after they had both finished on 5 under.

Paul Goydos is 169th in the world rankings

Sergio Garcia became only the second European in the tournament’s 35 year history to win The Players, which is known as the fifth major. Sandy Lyle won The Players in 1987.

Today Garcia is $1.7 million richer.  Not bad for a weekend of golf!
