The tall blonde haired 30 year-old English golfer Richard Finch won the Irish Open today at Adare Manor with a final round of 70 to finish on 10 under, two shots ahead of Felipe Aguilar from Chile. This is Richard Finch’s second tournament win of the season following his success at the New Zealand Open in December .
Fellow Englishman Lee Westwood and Irishman Gary Murphy tied with Robert Karlsson and Maarten Lafeber for third place with seven under, while Northern Ireland’s young Rory McIlroy was six under.
On the final hole Finch played a very tricky shot perched awkwardly aside the water hazard. He made a perfect shot. The ball floated across the water to land on the other side of the green from the pin, as the follow-through took Finch himself into the water!
Luckily this was the 18th hole as Finch played his final two shots dripping wet from the waist down.
