Northern Ireland’s first minister Ian Paisley met Donald Trump in a recent visit to the USA. Trump’s aide George Sorial is expected to look at potential investment opportunities in Northern Ireland, with possible plans to locate a golf resort in Co Antrim.
The Belfast Telegraph states a source close to Ian Paisley as saying:
“Nothing has been agreed and this is very much an exploratory trip but if Donald Trump is going to invest in Northern Ireland he would certainly be welcome.”
“That would represent a huge boost to the economy and would prove the worth of the (First and Deputy First Minister’s) trip to America.”
It is thought that Donald Trump is looking for an alternative site after plans to build a golf course and hotel resort in Aberdeenshire were rejected by local councillors.
