39-year-old PGA Tour golfer Tripp Isenhour, whose real name is John Henry Isenhour III, apologised for killing a red-shouldered hawk that was making noise while he tried to film a TV show last December.
Tripp Isenhour was charged last week with cruelty to animals and killing a migratory bird, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of 14 months in jail and $1,500 in fines; and the Humane Society wants the PGA Tour to take action.
The tragic event took place while Tripp Isenhour was filming Shoot Like A Pro on Dec. 12 at the Grand Cypress Golf Club when the squawking red-shouldered hawk forced another take.
It is alleged that Isenhour drove closer to the bird in his golf cart and starting hitting balls at it.

This is quite a remarkable story and I’m surprised it hasn’t had more coverage really. I can’t believe any golfer would deliberately do what he is alleged to have done, knowing the potential consequences and, especially in this case, knowing that there could be filmed footage of it.
