Ian Poulter stated he was misquoted in the recent Golf World interview where it was written than Poulter has suggested if he was playing to his potential, then no one else would get a chance to win anything except for Tiger Woods.
Poulter told The Telegraph:
“When the magazine asked if I thought I could ever get to No 1, I laughed out loud before replying, ‘No I can’t, really, not while Tiger is playing golf.’ When it came to, “Can you get to No 2?,” I said yeah, I did think that was possible. Lots of players would have said the same.”
Poulter, whose flamboyant dress sense on Tour has already courted controversy who is known for wearing some outlandish golf wear from his own clothes range, made his bold claim in the March edition of Golf World. The article stated Poulter had claimed: I am Tiger Woods’ main rival
Poulter is currently ranked no 22 in the world was reported to have said: “The trouble is I don’t rate anyone else.
