La Manga Golf Resort Holidays

La Manga Golf Resort Holidays

The end of British Summer Time has been thrust upon us fair weather golfers as we lose an hour of light in the evenings and the weather finally takes a turn for the worst heralding cold wind and hard rain.  As if I wasn’t depressed enough already!

So it’s no surprise that golfers all over the UK look to plan golf trips to where the sun still shines and the days are long and bright.

This time of year monthly golf magazines are littered with golf holidays and short breaks.  There is also plenty of specialist golf travel websites such as Your Golf Travel to choose from.

Depending on your budget and time available to enjoy the greatest sport in the world you can book golf holidays in exotic places such as Jamaica or as far afield as Australia, but Europe is still by far the most popular for both short breaks and golf holidays alike.

One of the most popular European resorts is La Manga.  It has repeatedly won European Golf Resort of the Year with its three championship golf courses and excellent facilities.

Of the three courses, La Manga’s South Course has played host to both regional and national events, including the Spanish Open and the European Tour Qualifying School; and was redesigned by Arnold Palmer, no less.
With the growth in popularity for golf holidays it means that prices are more competitively than ever before, and golf holidays in La Manga start from as little as £229.

And like family holidays, you can choose from an all-inclusive holiday or book a hotel, car and golf separately simply by using travel guide websites such as Simon Seeks.

Whatever your choice, what is clear as I write this blog looking across the 18th hole of my local Gillingham Golf Course in Kent, is that I would rather be somewhere warm, bright and relaxing.

If you are travelling to Murcia where La Manga is based then it may be worth checking out Polaris World. There are now four 18 hole courses open plus the Jack Nicklaus course opens at Condado de Alhama resort this month. A further course at Terrazas de la Torre opens in December. Arguably the best course of the current four is between El Valle and Hacienda Riquelme.
