The BMW Golf Travel Cover

The BMW Golf Travel Cover is a very stylish looking travel bag made from durable black and silver nylon with white zips and trim.  White BMW Golfsport emblem adorns each side.  Inside, the bag includes two straps to secure your golf bag with extra quilted padding at one end to help protect your club heads. There are two solidly built inline skate wheels attached to one end and the bottom of the travel bag has a hard protective PVC plate.

The protection and safety of golf clubs are paramount when transporting them (we’ve all heard scare stories involving baggage handlers!) but the other main concern when travelling is how easy it is to move a golf travel bag once it is loaded with everything you want to take with you.

The BMW Golfsports Travel Cover is a perfect companion.  At the opposite end to the skate wheels there is a padded nylon handle with which pulling even the heaviest golf bag is made extremely easy.  Alternatively, you can use the nylon padded shoulder strap that stretches the length of the bag or carry the bag using the nylon handles that come complete with padding and Velcro.

Of the three ways available I found holding the loaded travel cover by the handles was awkward and hard work.  Using the shoulder strap allowed me to pull my suitcase at the same time, though this can be a little stressful in a crowded airport where it appeared everyone and their child wanted to knock into the bag.  If you are travelling with a partner and sharing a suitcase then pulling a bag each is most definitely recommended, until you find a trolley!

The travel cover was tested with a return flight from London Heathrow to Cyprus.  The bag protected my golf clubs and bag perfectly, was simple to use and a stylish addition to my luggage.

Dom Joly’s Golfing Greats, Gaffes & Goofs DVD is to released on 1st December

The DVD is a collection of great golf, including some fantastic hole-in-one shots, some funny mishaps, including Richard Finch falling into the water at this year’s Irish Open; and some humorous clips including animals on golf courses.  Animals include a vicious duck attacking a golfer attempting to help her stranded ducklings out of a bunker, a stubborn swan, a thieving seagull and a cheeky monkey!

This collection of golf clips is introduced and narrated by funny man Dom Joly.  It also includes new golf sketches with familiar Dom Joly humour, as he does his best to annoy everyone on the golf course.  In character, Joly shows his disgust for ladies being allowed to play golf, and old people ‘getting in the way’ and smelling of “wee”!

Dom Joly's Letters to my Golf Club

Dom Joly best known for his hidden camera tv sketch show Trigger Happy TV and Dom Joly’s Happy Hour where discovered the drinking habits of different cultures, has just released a book of spoof letters to his golf club.

The letters are written under various pseudonyms and include outrageous requests. Will the Club Secretary clamp down on ilicit dog-fighting on their premises? Will the Board allow Snoop Dogg to be filmed golfing on drugs? How will the groundsman cope with accusations of dwarf-tossing?

Armed with this information you can place a golf bet they are going to replace disgusting socks and whacky unwearable cartoon character ties with tacky, cheap throw away golf gear, aids, books and memorabilia.

Whether from Poundland, SportsWorld or the market what is it with people who cannot grasp the concept that you cannot buy Callaway, Ping, Cutter & Buck or Galvin Green from the same places that sell crap!

Furthermore, its even worse knowing they have wasted £15 on a box of Donnay golf balls because ‘they look the same’ as Pro V1’s or relations caring enough to spend out on a pair of golf shoes. But as you open the wrapping paper as carefully as possible, you see the word Dunlop when you will only wear Footjoys.

Yes, I know its the thought that counts. But if they are only going to think that much, then I’d rather recieve gift vouchers.

Unless they know the difference between Callaway, Taylor Made, Ping with Dunlop and Donnay then you will have to keep your mouth shut and hope for the best or tell them straight up. Golf is not just the swing, it’s the fashion, the labels and the style.
